Options in [] I'm working on.

 

Choose the type of tune you are interested in,
and specify a (short) string to uniquely select the name of the tune.
For tunes similar to the hornpipe "The Beaux of Oakhill"
choose the type "hpps"
and a string such as "Beaux" or "Oak" to pick out the particular tune.
The string must select a single tune, and is case independent.

The output shows in columns

  • the metric used (note lengths, pitches or intervals)
  • the distance between your chosen tune and this one
  • the name of the similar tune, and a link to its score (may possibly not exist)
  • more metric details for my benefit

A tune which is close by all three metrics (length, pitch and interval) is probably close!

The process is slow for reels & jigs, of which we have many!
