Tune:
The Trumpet Hornpipe (Captain Pugwash TV theme music) (score,
music) Played A(AB)3B
This jig was, I
think, written by Nick Wadsworth, Fool of The Farnborough Morris (Hampshire),
following discussions with Roy Dommett about possible variations on
the Bampton Fools Jig. I learnt it in turn from Nick after watching
him dance it from when I was a child.
Danced with two
short sticks, somewhat smaller than the usual Headington sticks, the
ones I use are 10" long and 1" diameter. Mostly danced with
a single step with the arms slightly bent at elbow and moving back and
forth in a fairly relaxed manner.
