Spirit of Liverpool

Friday 7th MARCH 2008 at 14.00 pm

In 1207 Liverpool received its charter to become a city. Spirit of Liverpool tells the story of how after 800 years, Liverpool has become a place where we can see ‘the world in one city’ .

Taking part in the creation and the performance are

Heritage Dance  Workshops

Introducing dances from different cultural heritages.

Friday 7th  MARCH 2008  

Chinese Dance            at 10.15 am
English Folk Dance    at 10.15am and 12.00 noon

Saturday 8th MARCH 2008  

Indian Dance             at 10.30 am
African Dance            at 11.30 am

Saturday 8th MARCH 2008 at 2pm

Internationally renowned company “Wayne McGregor | Random Dance” has worked with young dancers from the Greenhouse Project learning African-Carribean Jazz and a group of Bharata Natyam dancers trained by Mira Balchandran Gokul, to create a piece exploring personal and genetic heritage through dance.

 


Times may vary slightly.

Worskhop spaces are limited, arrive promptly to avoid disappointment.
