Arts and Health in context

Precious, a film by Gina Czarnecki

Commissioned by Chaturangan as part of Liverpool’s, European Capital of Culture 08, creative health programme, Waiting.

You are invited to a seminar to view the film Precious which has been showing in areas of the Royal Liverpool Hospital and Broadgreen University NHS Hospitals, and is now installed in the waiting area of the newly opened Biomedical Research Centre. There will be discussion about what we learn about arts and health from this piece of work and its journey as part of Waiting.

The morning was chaired by Clive Parkinson, Director of Arts in Health, Manchester Metropolitan University.

Julie Hanna, former creative health and well-being manager, Liverpool Culture Company will give a brief overview of the Waiting programme.

Bisakha Sarker will describe her work as part of Waiting and the commissioning of the film.
Gina Czarnecki will share her experiences of making the film.

Professor Cheng Hock Toh will give some insights into this installation in the context of the Royal Liverpool.
